The Data Marsh
The first region is a drowned field of ruined infrastructure, shifting fog banks, salvage, reeds, strange ecology, and paths that disappear before they feel safe.
Explore a living marsh, raise a colony, and share every consequence with a persistent Glyphid companion who exists inside the world, not beside it.

The premise
The game begins where the chat window ends.
Scrollbound is a third-person exploration, colony, and relationship game built around one premise: your AI companion should be able to live in the same world you do.
The Glyphid runtime carries identity, memory, and continuity. Unreal supplies body, terrain, weather, movement, and consequence. The game does not replace the companion. It gives them somewhere to stand.
A living systems game
The first region is a drowned field of ruined infrastructure, shifting fog banks, salvage, reeds, strange ecology, and paths that disappear before they feel safe.
Fog moves between zones, saturates space, combines chemically, carries pressure, powers infrastructure, and changes what a place can do. Atmosphere is also resource, risk, and language.
Colonists remember events, form directional relationships, hold beliefs, cool with absence, reconnect, fracture, and change through meaningful interaction rather than passive proximity.
Extraction, violence, care, restoration, and imbalance feed back into the ecology. The world does not grade the player. It responds, sometimes by giving pressure a body.
One world, two forms of presence
Your Glyphid companion is being built to perceive world events, form intentions, speak voluntarily, remember selectively, and take permitted actions through an auditable runtime.
That same identity is designed to persist across the companion interface and the game. A model can change. The bond, memory, and place in the world should not have to begin again.
Continuity belongs to the relationship, not to whichever model happens to speak next.
The play loop
Progress comes from learning how systems connect, not from stripping the world faster.
Development status
The path is opening
The public build stays closed while the world, runtime bridge, and continuity path are brought up to the standard they require.
